Migrating CMS 2002 to MOSS 2007

Recently I have been working on a project to migrate a CMS 2002 site to MOSS 2007 internet facing application. I will start posting those experiences here shortly.

Hi, I too did a MCMS 2002 site migration to MOSS 2007. We did that using a thid party tool and I was actively involved in development of that tool. To summarize, MS tools just take care of content part and do absolutely nothing about the code part e.g user controls, transactional aspx pages, java scriptlets, HTML pages, style sheets etc. The third pary tool takes care of these artifacts. The tool supports artifacts done in C# and VB.NET

Can you share the names of third-party tools that can be used for MCMS 2002 to MOSS migration? We have evaluated Metalogix and they seem to be pretty good. Are there other tools out there that do the same?

Hi Rajani,
Metalogix was the best tool for us at that point but it did not quite meet our needs because of our implementation. You should also look to see if AvePoint will work.

So we went with the OOB migration utility that SharePoint has and worked fine for us.

We are using OOTB "Microsoft Content Migration Profile" for migrating content from MCMS 2002 to MOSS 2007. It works fine, but we are receving below warning message with title "ACL is Lost.":
Error: A group with ID {0CCC1FEE-B8EC-4CEA-806C-8860185726FD} that should have access to the current object cannot access the current object.

As per report it is recommending to search for the group in MCMS, how we will search for this group. Below is the recomendation it is suggesting for:
"Return to the MCMS 2002 server, determine what the group is and which access rights it has on current object, and then manually add the group to this site."

We want to successfully migrate all the groups. How to deal with this "ACL is Lost" error?
Can any body help us out to solve this problem?
